The Fat Whoosh…

You’re doing everything right, but you’re not seeing immediate results or measurable weight loss. Why??

Every body is different. As you start to lose fat, your fat cells start to fill up with water as a “placeholder”, waiting for the cell to fill with fat again. Fat cells are stubborn and hold on for days. Once they realize there’s no fat (source: glucose) coming, they release and the cell collapses…resulting in a big “whoosh” or fat + bloat drop. Many times this is apparent on the scale as well, but not always. This can happen very early in the process or later on to day 7 or 8 or even day 20+. Again, every body is different.

Keep at it and DON’T GIVE UP. Your body is transitioning and you WILL see results. Consistently making better choices over time will pay off. I know it’s hard, but stay away from the scale. A better way to measure progress if fat loss is a goal is to use a soft measuring tape or pay attention to how your clothes fit. Also take note of how you FEEL. True fat loss (or weight loss) does not occur in days, it occurs over months or even years for some. Although it’s a cliche’ it is SO relevant here: it’s a marathon, not a sprint!!
