Starting Ketones? 10 Tips To Help You!!

Top Tips to being successful with your 10-day Experience Pack:

1)    Start by drinking ½ a packet for at least the first day.  Move up to a full packet as you see fit.

2)    Take electrolyte tablets before your ketones and be sure to take them daily. 2-3 tablets per packet of ketones.  I personally use the Trace Minerals brand – they are on Amazon Prime.

3)    Drink your ketones slowly over 20-30 minutes.

4)    Drink a gallon of water a day!  A common suggestion is drinking at least half of your body weight in ounces per day.  This is VERY important as dehydration is not only common in everyday life, but is even more common while in ketosis.

5)    Expect some extra bathroom breaks as inflammation goes down.  This passes with time as your body adjust to not being so inflamed, and using fat for fuel instead of glucose.

6)    Track your carbs throughout the day.  The Keto Diet is not required while taking ketones, so if you’re eating carbs, consider eating them before you take your ketones, or 3-4 hours after.  DOWNLOAD the CARB MANAGER App!!

9)    Every BODY is different – some see immediate results, others start to see them after day 5 or 6.  For some there’s a “whoosh” effect after 5-7 days and for others they see a consistent steady drop from day 1.  Stay the course! You will feel better than you ever have!!

Don’t be alarmed if…

  • You have tummy troubles initially.  Your body is detoxing and changing, it’s expected!
  • You don’t see the scale move immediately!  Weight loss takes time and does not happen in hours and days, it happens in weeks and months.  
  • You feel a sense of bloat after a few days.  This will go away! There will be an eventual “whoosh” effect!  It will happen.
  • You don’t feel well, have headaches and feel lethargic – this is probably the Keto flu and it IS avoidable.  Drink tons of water, supplement electrolytes and up your fats!

Dedicate these 10 days to doing the best you can!  Track your intake, start transitioning to a lower carb, higher fat diet.  Don’t expect amazing results without putting in some level of effort. You can’t eat 3,000 calories a day and still expect a shift. There is no such thing as a magic pill.
