Do you have a morning motivation routine? I’ve found that if I start my day spending some time identifying things/people/etc for which I am thankful, practicing the Law of Attraction by writing affirmations and positive intentions, and attempting meditation (I’m a rookie but learning), things tend to flow more smoothly for me.
Think back to how your last few mornings have gone….or the mornings you experience every day. For me, it used to be complete and utter chaos, always playing from behind and in a rush. Always frustrated by the kids not understanding time boundaries (and wh uh should they?). Always running late or forgetting something. I was merely REACTING to what life was throwing at me. No more. Now I do my best to start my intentionally, earlier than the house most mornings. I reserve that time for my own personal development – whether that be exercise, watching videos or reading, meditation or just enjoying the peace and quiet. I do that and I take a few minutes to write out things for which I am thankful and affirmations/intentions for the day. Just the 8-12 hours in front of me. The difference it makes in my day and my life is astounding.
Now let’s go back to that idea of being grateful and focusing on the positive. If you’re not truly internalizing your thoughts and feelings and gratitude, then you’re missing the point of doing any of it and you’re just going through the motions for the sake of checking a box. Starting your day intentionally and pushing your mind to focus on the positive, as well as what you DO have (vs what you don’t) will have a compound effect in how your life starts to change. If you’re wanting to change your life you must start by changing your thoughts.
I’m am 100% a work in progress but I’ve come a heck of a long way in the dialogue that runs though my conscious and subconscious about myself. Start trying to catch yourself in negative thought cycles and begin adjusting. Where your focus fors, energy flows. Remember that. If you’re spending time comparing yourself to others and on what you DON’T have, you’ll get more of that. Of you focus on being content with where you are but reaching for more, that’s exactly what you’ll get. You have the power to control your life, but first you must control your thoughts and mindset.
And finally, let’s extend that idea into your self-talk. That’s as important as everything we’ve already discussed. Most of us talk to ourselves in a way we wouldn’t dare talk about or to another human. And that’s complete BS. You DESERVE better and should start treating yourself more kindly and with more compassion. ❤ Find things to love and appreciate about yourself. Even if it’s small, start somewhere and keep going. That love and appreciation will also grow.
